Why would my company need this?
Most companies have sexual harassment, work safety, DEI and conflict resolution training throughout the year but there is no current standard for social media education focusing on positive and proper use, leading to an epidemic of damaging and regretful social media content. The purpose of this e-course is to train all participants on how to positively and professionally represent themselves and their personal brand on social media as well as the larger brand of the employer they are a part of and represent.

Most training program certificates are only valid for a short timeframe and require a renewal process. What can be inferred about an individual holding a valid SMLW certificate?
Someone holding a Social Media Literacy and Wellness course certificate communicates to others they have spent time learning and understanding what is okay to post and comment about online against other types of content they should be careful about and avoid. The certificate reflects favorably on the individual who now understands the importance of having a strong personal brand and reputation both in person and online. The certificate indicates those who hold it and those who perform well on the assessment are less of a risk to use social media in destructive and negative ways that could harm their own personal brand as well as the brand of their employer or university while maintaining a positive online presence.
